Therapy is incredibly common and beneficial for a wide range of people facing various challenges. People from all walks of life, backgrounds, and ages seek therapy for numerous reasons. It’s entirely normal to start therapy to address issues like anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, grief, stress, or simply just because being a human in the world is hard. Therapy offers a safe space to explore emotions, gain coping skills, and work towards a happier, healthier life. Whoever you are and whatever you’re going through, seeking therapy is a positive step towards taking care of your mental well-being.

Our intake process, which includes paperwork and discussions with our intake specialist, is set up to help you find a great fit. You will spend the first two sessions making sure you feel comfortable with your therapist, while your therapist ensures they have the right experience to help you with the concerns you would like to focus on.

Full-fee rates for therapy sessions range from $150-$225 per session, depending on the clinician you see. Inner Life clinicians are also in network with Blue Cross Blue Shield PPO, and some are in network with Aetna PPO. You may pay for sessions via Visa and MasterCard through our online portal. Please note that life coaching services are not covered under insurance. Our billing specialist can answer any further questions you have about payment for your sessions.

All Inner Life providers are in network with Blue Cross Blue Shield PPO and Blue Choice PPO. BCBS PPO plans sometimes use other names such as BasicBlue PPO, Blue PPO Bronze, Blue PPO Silver, Blue PPO Gold, Blue PPO Platinum, BluePrint PPO and BlueEdge. Some of our clinicians are also in network with Aetna PPO. Please make sure to reach out to your insurance company before your initial evaluation to understand co-pays and deductibles.

While we ask your insurance for your benefits, they do not always give us accurate information, so it is important you contact your insurance provider and ask them exactly what you will owe. It is helpful to keep your reference number for your personal records to ensure your insurance honors the given cost. Our intake specialist will also collect this information so that we can verify your coverage as soon as possible. We are not in network with any BCBS CPO plans, BCBS Community, HMO plans, Blue Options, or Blue FocusCare. We are happy to answer any questions you have about your plan and benefits.


If you are seeing a therapist that is not in network with your insurance plan, your invoice should contain enough information for you to send to your insurance’s claim department. If more information is requested by your insurance provider, we are happy to provide it.
Your insurance will not cover the cost of a late cancellation. You will be responsible for the full session fee if you cancel less than 48 hours in advance.

If you are unable to attend therapy, you must contact your therapist 48 hours before your session to let them know. Otherwise, you may be subject to the cancellation fees outlined below. Insurance does not cover these fees. If you know far in advance of upcoming travel or absence, give your therapist as much notice as possible to be respectful of their time and income.


No-show and cancellation fees are non-negotiable and will be the full amount of your missed session. If you normally use insurance, this means you will be responsible for both the part that you pay and the part that insurance typically pays when you do attend session. Insurance will not cover any part of cancellation fees.


When you commit to routine therapy sessions, your therapist has a time slot reserved for you. Providers only receive payment for time in session with clients from insurance. In order for providers to make a reasonable living, they can only agree to work with clients who agree to show up to their appointments consistently. Similarly, progress can only be made when people consistently show up for therapy.

HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act) is a federal law in the United States that establishes standards to protect individuals’ medical records and personal health information. It ensures the confidentiality, integrity, and security of protected health information while also providing guidelines for its use and disclosure by healthcare providers and insurance companies. This federal law is the reason there are several contracts and forms, because your health is personal and it should be protected.

The Chicago location is at 1030 North Clark Street, Suite 303, Chicago, Illinois 60610. Street parking is often available near the corner of Clark Street and Maple Street. We also have validated parking for $4.00. If you are taking public transportation, the closest CTA stop is Clark/Division, which you can get to via the Red Line. The 22 Bus will take you to the closest bus stop, which is Clark & Maple.

The Hinsdale location is at 920 North York Road, Suite 300, Hinsdale, Illinois 60521. Please park and enter at the rear of the building. We are located one building north of the intersection of York Road and Ogden Avenue.
